Box Office Xpress®
Allocated System
Also available in a
real-time system
What is the difference between the regular Box Office Xpress and the Allocated
Box Office Xpress?
This is a feature-reduced version of Box Office Xpress. You get
all the same features of the regular Box Office Xpress, except for the following
...
There is no in-house box office component, and no components for outlets and kiosks.
To handle in-house box office sales, you will need a separate program, such as Box Office Xpress Junior.
On-line tickets are exclusively for Internet sales and cannot be sold at your box office (see What is an Allocated System).
It's important to note that you still get a tremendous number of features, such as being bale to sell tickets through your own web site, instant access to all the reports, and you are in complete control of every aspect of setting up your events and selling your tickets.
It is very easy to have the allocated system switched over to the real-time system, should you wish to do so at a future date.
What is an Allocated System?
As a reference, a real-time system allows for the simultaneous sale of
tickets at the box office, the Internet and remote locations.
Whereas, an allocated Internet ticketing is the process of allocating a
block of seats, or quantity of tickets, that can
only be sold on-line. While these tickets are available on-line,
they cannot be sold at the box office, or any other location. On-line sales are
usually stopped about 24 hours before the event so that the unsold tickets can
then be
sold through regular channels, such as the box office.
Why an
Allocated System?
Less expensive than a real-time system.
Less expensive to your customers than a real-time system.
Per-ticket fee may seem more appropriate for tickets in the $10 or less price range.
You already have an in-house ticketing software program and you just want to sell a few tickets on-line.
